Jazz Factory

Ron Kobayashi has created a new jazz program at The Music Factory in Costa Mesa by adapting his university level improvisation course for musicians of all ages and skill levels.

This class places a strong emphasis on performance, by providing the student with a solid foundation in jazz theory and the supportive environment to apply that theory and grow musically. In addition to a Jazz Improvisation Class, a Jazz Combo/Performance Lab and The Music Factory Jazz Jam Session will be offered, creating multiple opportunities for students to play in a live setting.

This program is great for musicians with day jobs,
all students trying to get to the next level (especially during summer/winter breaks), and for anyone with an interest in jazz improvisation.

Available courses:

  • Jazz Improvisation Class
  • Jazz Combo/Performance Lab
  • Introduction to Basic Performance Skills (an introductory course for beginners to prepare for Jazz Improvisation Class)

Please pre-register for each class otherwise we can not guarantee a spot for you at the day of the event!
